Café des Amis is known across the city for its lavish brunch menu. Almost all ingredients used come from within the region. Miguel Castro and his team always avoid using products that come from large corporations. Whether it’s lunchtime or for dinner, the food should be fresh and local.

Kafi Paradiesli

Hottingen is – how do I put this? Well, it’s just not very cool. Surrounded by the charming old town and the hip district of Seefeld, it’s mainly just a quiet residential area. But I still often get the urge to come here – specifically, to a cosy little café that seems slightly out of place around these parts.

Terrasse Restaurant

Every visit to the secluded garden at the Terrasse is a wonderful experience. We’re ready!

A beautiful oasis near the vibrant Bellevue. This is where we love to take a break, enjoy a vegan Greenmountain Burger (even committed carnivores love it!) with a nice glass of wine and simply enjoy our surroundings. We’re happy!

Mühle Tiefenbrunnen

The urban village square in district 8

The beautiful courtyard of the Mühle Tiefenbrunnen has something for everyone – summer mornings with a doppio at Café Kornsilo, dinner with local wine at the Blaue Ente, or a Negroni at Millersbar. Picnickers, museum-lovers and bookworms in search of a quiet corner to read are also welcome.

Residents of Zurich’s Kreis 6 have been enjoying their Kleine Freiheit, a small, alternative bar located in the Weinbergpark, since summer 2013. It’s run by Rea Zaverdinos and her right-hand woman, Anna Rotter. Together, the two women have turned the bar – which is open all year round – into an even more attractive venue, with sunshades, flowers and brunch.
